Please find attached a brochure describing a local Fibre-to-the-Home Project. I own Posix Systems, a local ISP (Internet Service Provider) based in Wapadrand Office Park. I was also the person behind the (Non-profit) CO.ZA Registry system, now with almost a million Domain Names. I live in Die Wilgers close to Oulandsloop and am a DWRA Committee Member. It is the objective of my company to install a Fibre Optic Service in this area (The Willows/ Die Wilgers) and elsewhere in Pretoria East. The attached PDF flyer gives more detail and suggests you visit the website https://ftth.posix.co.za/ where there is more information and the ability for you to show interest in supporting the Fibre Project. Apart from offering residences and local businesses a much, much faster and competitively priced system (Internet, Telephone and TV signalling), it is also an opportunity for me to serve my local community. Fibre in the ground would allow for the best possible communications for Surveillance Cameras and as long as there are adequate customers, I'll provide this connectivity for free. It will also allow me to provide free, fast and plentiful connectivity to the schools in our area. This will be an additional advantage to our children's education. In addition to Internet, I hope to persuade people to use my Voice-over-IP Telephone System (you can keep your existing Telephone Number). With VoIP phones installed, this can offer the local community a simple and free way to access its membership, leave messages (that might traditionally be done via Radio). It can also be used as an alternative and free method (rather than Cell/Telkom) to verify visitors at any of the local Gated communities. One could even provide a video feed from the gate over the fibre. I am also willing to provide a Fibre Service to Telephone-only users at a competitive price (lower that Telkom SA's current Voice pricing). This will allow the Fibre Service to be upgraded to include Internet very easily in the future yet immediately provide the resident with the same Voice services such as free on-net calling. I am therefore trying to contact and have interest shown in the Fibre Project from as many people as possible in order to help secure the necessary financing. I am hoping that the attached flyer will be re-distributed as widely as possible to fellow workers, family, friends and associates anywhere in Pretoria East or on the projected route from here to Rosebank and Isando in Johannesburg. Interest only counts if you show support on the web at https://ftth.posix.co.za/ Best regards -- Mark Elkins (DWRA Committee Member - Website/Database) Please note that the management committee of Die Wilgers Residents Association supports this endevour to provide a vastly imporved communication system to our residents and will also contact you through our regular newsletter to show support for this venture. -- Theuns Erasmus - Chairperson 2013-2014
